Developing a high-resolution land use/land cover map by upgrading CORINE’s agricultural components using detailed national and pan-European datasets

چکیده
The agricultural uses of the Coordination Information on Environment Land Cover (CLC) dataset suffer from limitations such as temporal stationarity, low spatial resolution, broad and rather simplified grouping classes. study attempts to address these shortcomings, using test site Sperchios River catchment, Central Greece. Greek ‘branch’ Parcel Identification System, Beneficiaries’ Declarations (BD) CLC inventories were utilized develop hybrid layers, deriving their harmonization, sequential incorporation progressive update (BD → BD-ilot BD-ilot-CLC). final layer constitutes new object-oriented Use/Land map. Remote sensing data (Sentinel-2) was used validate accuracy BD, subject most frequent errors. map retains key advantages yet is now characterized by highly detailed resolution explicit description different cultivated farmlands included.

Very High Resolution Land Cover Extraction in Urban Areas: Very High Resolution Urban Land Cover Extraction Using Airborne Hyperspectral Images
During last decade, needs for high resolution land cover data have been growing. Such knowledge is namely often required in environment monitoring studies. Thus, to answer these needs, national mapping or environment agencies, in many countries, have undertaken the production of such large scale national land cover database. Nevertheless, these databases provide a general classification and may...
متن کاملMulti-Temporal Land-Cover Classification of Agricultural Areas in Two European Regions with High Resolution Spotlight TerraSAR-X Data
Functioning ecosystems offer multiple services for human well-being (e.g., food, freshwater, fiber). Agriculture provides several of these services but also can cause negative impacts. Thus, it is essential to derive up-to-date information about agricultural land use and its change. This paper describes the multi-temporal classification of agricultural land use based on high resolution spotligh...
متن کاملObject-based urban detailed land cover classification with high spatial resolution IKONOS imagery
Improvement in remote sensing techniques in spatial/spectral resolution strengthens their applicability for urban environmental study. Unfortunately, high spatial resolution imagery also increases internal variability in land cover units and can cause a ‘salt-and-pepper’ effect, resulting in decreased accuracy using pixel-based classification results. Region-based classification techniques, usi...
متن کاملIncreasing the spatial resolution of agricultural land cover maps using a Hopfield neural network
Land cover class composition of remotely sensed image pixels can be estimated using soft classification techniques increasingly available in many GIS packages. However, their output provides no indication of how such classes are distributed spatially within the instantaneous field of view represented by the pixel. Techniques that attempt to provide an improved spatial representation of land cov...
متن کاملUrban Land Cover and Land Use Classification Using High Spatial Resolution Images and Spatial Metrics
In this paper, the author evaluates the results of applying two evolving classification techniques, decision trees (DT) and artificial neural networks’ back-propagation (ANN-BP), to obtain land cover and land use classes from Quickbird XS data combined with spatial metrics, in a selected urban zone in Bogota, Colombia. In order to improve the quality of the land cover classification, additional...
